Turn-Key Mitigation

Blue Ridge Waterways is well positioned to help permitees develop turn-key compensatory mitigation solutions to offset unavoidable impacts to streams and wetlands. We have extensive experience using the 2019 Tennessee Stream Mitigation Guidelines to evaluate impacts and mitigation in terms of functional losses and uplifts. Our scope of work could include a wide range of services, including:

1. Evaluating the compensatory mitigation potential of a site owned by a permittee

2. Searching for suitable compensatory mitigation sites within the watershed where impacts are proposed

3. Serving as a liaison between landowners and conservation groups to develop land protection strategies

4. Creating site-specific mitigation plans and coordinating with resource agencies regarding mitigation credits using the Stream Quantification Tool (SQT) methodology

5. Completing geomorphic and topographic surveys and wetland delineations

6. Preparing boundary surveys

7. Preparing design plans and construction documents

8. Hiring specialty restoration contractors and overseeing/documenting construction

9. Performing post-construction monitoring and adaptive management
