Oostanaula Creek Mitigation Bank

Oostanaula Creek Restored Mainstem - September 2013

The Oostanaula Creek Mitigation Bank, located in McMinn County TN, has been approved by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and the TN Department of Environment and Conservation as a multi-user stream mitigation bank.  Credits from this bank are currently available for purchase and can be used to compensate for permitted stream impacts within the bank Service Area which includes HUC 06020002 Hiwassee; HUC 06020001 Chickamauga Reservoir; HUC 06020003 Ocoee River; and HUC 06010204 Little Tennessee River.

This mitigation bank will restore and enhance approximately 21,520 linear feet (LF) of stream channel along Oostanaula Creek, Johnson Branch, and three unnamed tributaries to Oostanaula Creek.  Phase I was completed in September 2013 and includes over 17,000 linear feet of restoration and enhancement.
